Fees & Policies

Therapy/Consultations
Initial consultation sessions are 75 minutes in length, and the fee is $275.00. Subsequent sessions are 50 minutes long and the fee is $165.00. After this initial session, I need to see the patient between four and six sessions before I can provide a completely informed treatment plan. Group therapy is $60.00 per 50 minute session. Payment is due at the end of each session. Cash or checks are accepted at this time. A monthly finance charge of 1½% will be added to any outstanding balances 30 days past the date of service.

Insurance
Clients are responsible for all fees. Statements showing dates of visits, charges, and payments will be provided. I can provide some assistance in dealing with your insurance company, but cannot accept the responsibility of negotiating settlement on a disputed insurance claim. I am an out of network insurance provider.

Ultimately, it is your responsibility to insure that your account is paid. I will assist however I can to ensure you recover your funds, but at this time, do not accept direct payment from insurance companies.

Missed Appointments/Late Cancellations
Cancellations must be made at least forty-eight hours in advance to avoid a charge to your account. Preferably, necessary cancellations are made long before this. There are reasons why this policy is strictly followed: 1) regular appointments are necessary for therapy to work; 2) this notice gives others who may want your appointment enough time to rearrange their schedule. When there is an illness or when weather is severe enough to close the public schools in the area, I naturally will not charge for a missed appointment. A 24-hour voicemail service is available for your convenience.

Telephone Calls
Charges will be made for telephone consultations greater than five (5) minutes in duration. This includes consultation with patients, parents, teachers, and other professionals. The fee for these services will be prorated based upon $165.00/hour (for example, $55.00 would be charged for a 20 minute telephone consultation).
